Dolman Law Group’s Investigation Into Roblox
At Dolman Law Group, we are actively investigating claims of sexual abuse, child sexual exploitation, and grooming on the Roblox platform. Our clients have shared harrowing experiences of being targeted by predators who used Roblox, and in some cases Discord, to gain access to children under the cloak of anonymity.
We want to be clear: we are not handling claims related to video game addiction. Instead, our Roblox lawsuit attorneys’ main focus is on the alarming rise of sexual grooming and assault linked to Roblox. Despite repeated warnings and a growing body of documented cases, Roblox has failed to take adequate steps to protect children, leaving an entire generation vulnerable to serious and preventable harm.

Roblox’s Rapid Growth and Influence
Roblox is more than just a game; it is an entire digital ecosystem where users can create, share, and play immersive experiences. Children are drawn to the platform because it combines social interaction with creativity and gaming. Users can design their own virtual worlds, trade digital items, and engage in chat with other players.
In Q2 2025, Roblox reported 111.8 million daily active users, representing a 41 percent increase from the previous year. A significant portion of this user base is under the age of 18. The company has aggressively marketed itself as a place where kids can learn to code, express creativity, and connect with friends.
But with popularity comes risk. When millions of children gather in a space with limited oversight, the platform becomes a prime target for predators. Chat features, avatar anonymity, and cross-platform connections through Discord or other social media tools have created fertile ground for exploitation.
Why Parents Are Concerned
Through our investigation, we have heard countless stories from parents whose children were exposed to inappropriate content, manipulated by strangers, or even groomed by predators posing as peers. The risks are not theoretical; they are documented in lawsuits and criminal complaints nationwide.
Parents express fears in four main areas:
- Predator Access – Adults can easily pose as children, using avatars to hide their identity.
- Chat and Messaging – Even with parental controls, children can be solicited through in-game chats or external links.
- Third-Party Platforms – Groomers often encourage children to continue conversations on Discord, where there is even less oversight.
- Inadequate Protections – Roblox has known about these risks for years, yet lawsuits allege that the company has not taken sufficient steps to prevent harm.
These concerns are not isolated. They are reflected in lawsuits, Google search activity, and media reporting across the country.
Our Methodology: The Parental Concern Index
We developed a Parental Concern Index to measure the level of worry parents have about Roblox in different states. The index combines several indicators:
- Download requests per 10,000 households with children. High request rates reflect how strongly kids are drawn to the platform, which often fuels parental pushback.
- Google search data for terms related to Roblox safety, child exploitation, and lawsuits. Frequent searches signal active parental concern.
- Media mentions connecting Roblox to lawsuits, controversies, or child-related risks. The volume of reporting amplifies awareness and anxiety.
- Publicly available lawsuits involving Roblox. Lawsuits provide a direct record of alleged harm.
By combining and normalizing these factors, we created a ranking system that identifies the 10 states where parents are most worried about Roblox.
Here’s a look at the top 10 states where parents are most worried about Roblox:
| State | Roblox Download Requests per 10k HH w kids | Google Search Data | Media Mentions | Publicly Available Number of Lawsuits | Parents Concern Score | Rank |
| Arkansas | 653 | 471 | 63 | 1 | 98 | 1 |
| Iowa | 596 | 907 | 105 | 1 | 92 | 2 |

State-by-State Results
1. Arkansas – Parental Concern Score: 98
Arkansas tops our list. Children in the state make 653 Roblox download requests per 10,000 households with kids each month, a rate that reveals the platform’s pull on minors.
We also noted a lawsuit filed in the Arkansas state court alleging child exploitation and manipulation facilitated by Roblox. Combined with 63 media mentions and growing search activity, the data shows a state where parents are deeply alarmed.
The situation in Arkansas demonstrates how quickly engagement with Roblox can turn into widespread concern when lawsuits and media coverage highlight safety risks.
2. Iowa – Parental Concern Score: 92
Iowa ranks second. We found 105 media mentions linking Roblox to lawsuits or controversies involving children.
A disturbing lawsuit in Polk County alleges that Roblox enabled the grooming and kidnapping of a 13-year-old child. This case has sparked outrage among Iowa parents and drawn attention to Roblox’s failure to prevent predatory behavior.
Parents in Iowa are not just worried about screen time. Their concerns are rooted in documented harm.
3. Illinois – Parental Concern Score: 89
Illinois takes third place. Parents here are highly proactive, conducting 572 Roblox safety-related searches per 10,000 households with kids.
Illinois has also recorded lawsuits involving Roblox exploitation. When combined with media coverage, the data paints a picture of parents actively seeking answers about how to protect their children from risks associated with the platform.
4. Idaho – Parental Concern Score: 84
Idaho ranks fourth. Children in the state request to download Roblox more than 12,000 times each month, a figure that translates to 681 requests per 10,000 households with kids.
Parents in Idaho are not passively allowing this. They are actively searching for information, logging thousands of Google queries related to Roblox safety. Concern here stems from both the popularity of the platform and its well-documented dangers.
5. Louisiana – Parental Concern Score: 81
Louisiana comes in fifth. We documented 338 media mentions tying Roblox to lawsuits, controversies, and safety concerns.
Even more significant is the legal action taken by the Attorney General of Louisiana. The lawsuit alleges that Roblox “knowingly enables” exploitation, holding the platform accountable for failing to protect children.
Louisiana parents are seeing their own state government raise the alarm, adding credibility to their fears.
6. California – Parental Concern Score: 76
California ranks sixth, but it leads the nation in lawsuits and media coverage. We identified eight publicly available lawsuits involving Roblox (many of which were filed by us), more than any other state. These cases span issues such as gambling, grooming, child exploitation, and covert data collection.
California also recorded 1,206 media mentions, the highest in the country. With so much visibility, parents in California are inundated with reports of Roblox-related risks, fueling deep concern.
7. Connecticut – Parental Concern Score: 57
Connecticut ranks seventh, with the highest download request rate in the country. Children in the state make 6,257 Roblox download requests per 10,000 households with kids each month.
While lawsuits are less frequent, parental concern is evident in the sheer number of requests and the 76 media mentions linking Roblox to child safety controversies.
Connecticut illustrates how popularity itself can become a concern when parents fear that widespread use exposes children to greater risks.
8. Missouri – Parental Concern Score: 52
Missouri takes eighth place. We found 4,064 safety-related Google searches each month, along with 64 media reports documenting lawsuits and controversies.
A lawsuit filed in Clay County Circuit Court alleged that a teen was exploited through Roblox. This real-world case underscores why Missouri parents are uneasy about their children’s engagement with the platform.
9. Washington – Parental Concern Score: 50
Washington ranks ninth. Children in the state make 871 Roblox download requests per 10,000 households with kids each month, the second-highest rate in the nation.
We also documented 6,064 monthly safety-related searches, reflecting an active parental response to Roblox’s dangers. Washington has also reported lawsuits involving child exploitation on the platform.
10. Indiana – Parental Concern Score: 47
Indiana rounds out the top ten. The state recorded 144 media reports linking Roblox to lawsuits, safety issues, or child controversies.
We also noted a Wabash County case involving suspected online abuse of a teen through Roblox. This case is emblematic of the risks that parents in Indiana are working to confront.
Broader Legal Context
Across the country, lawsuits against Roblox allege failures in areas such as:
- Child exploitation and grooming facilitated by inadequate moderation.
- Exposure to sexually explicit content despite promises of child-friendly environments.
- In-game gambling mechanics that target children through digital items.
- Data collection and privacy violations, including the tracking of minors without proper consent.
These lawsuits add legal weight to parental fears. They show that concerns are not just anecdotal; they are being tested in courts of law.
How Parents Can Respond
While litigation and public pressure may eventually force Roblox to improve its protections, parents need tools to safeguard children now.
We recommend that parents:
- Use parental controls on Roblox and restrict in-game chat features.
- Monitor downloads and track requests for Roblox and associated apps.
- Educate children about online predators, grooming tactics, and safe behavior.
- Stay alert to Discord use, as predators often migrate conversations off Roblox.
- Report incidents immediately to both Roblox and law enforcement.
Parental awareness is the first line of defense against exploitation.
Dolman Law Group’s Commitment
At Dolman Law Group, we believe corporations must be held accountable when they expose children to preventable dangers. Roblox has repeatedly failed to act despite ample warning and evidence of harm.
We will continue investigating and litigating cases of sexual abuse, child exploitation, and grooming tied to the platform. We stand with families whose children have been harmed, and we are committed to pursuing justice on their behalf.
Conclusion

Roblox has positioned itself as a platform of creativity and fun, but beneath the surface lies a growing crisis of child exploitation and parental fear. Our Parental Concern Index reveals the states where those fears are strongest, from Arkansas to Indiana.
The findings are clear: Roblox is not simply a game. It is a platform that has exposed millions of children to predators, lawsuits, and risks that could have been prevented.
Parents deserve better protections for their children. Until Roblox takes meaningful steps to safeguard its youngest users, we will continue to shine a light on the dangers and fight for the families who have been harmed.
