At Dolman Law Group, we’ve spent years advocating for individuals harmed by dangerous and defective products. In 2025, mass tort litigation has reached an all-time high, with over 500,000 active cases pending across the country. These lawsuits represent more than just numbers, they reflect real lives upended by corporate negligence and a regulatory system that too often fails to protect consumers before it’s too late.
As part of our ongoing research, we analyzed nationwide litigation data sourced from the United States Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML) to identify which companies and products are facing the most legal scrutiny in 2025.

1. 3M Combat Arms Earplugs – 391,200 Cases Filed
The most sued product of 2025 is the 3M Combat Arms Earplug, with over 391,200 lawsuits filed. These cases stem from military service members and veterans who suffered permanent hearing loss due to defective earplugs distributed by 3M. While most of the cases have been resolved, 41 remain active, and public concern is still widespread.
2. Johnson & Johnson Talcum Powder – 58,600 Cases Still Pending
Johnson & Johnson continues to face massive litigation over its talcum powder products, which have been linked to ovarian cancer. With 59,800 total cases filed and 58,600 still pending, this litigation now represents the largest number of open actions of any product liability MDL in the country.
3. Zantac (Ranitidine) – Most Publicly Searched Lawsuit
While it ranks seventh in terms of pending legal actions, Zantac litigation is the most widely searched in 2025, with 24,800 monthly Google queries. This high public interest reflects growing concern about the alleged cancer risks tied to the once-popular heartburn medication. There are still 2,400 active cases in this MDL.

What These Numbers Tell Us
The rise in litigation against these corporations tells a familiar and troubling story: dangerous products continue to enter the marketplace, harming consumers, patients, and even service members, often long before companies are held accountable.
As trial attorneys, we know these lawsuits are not just about money. They’re about protecting the public, exposing negligent practices, and pushing for systemic change in how products are tested, marketed, and monitored. The people behind these lawsuits trusted that their medication, medical devices, or everyday consumer products were safe. When that trust is violated, we step in to fight for justice.
