DeKalb County, Georgia, August 2025 – Dolman Law Group, along with co-counsel Battle Law, has filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of DeKalb County on behalf of Jane Doe, acting as “guardian and next friend” for her minor son, John Doe (neither the mother nor her son wishes their name to be public). The case, which we will call Jane Doe v. Roblox Corporation until the case is officially logged into the Superior Georgia Court’s records, seeks to hold Roblox accountable for enabling and facilitating the online grooming and real-world sexual exploitation of the John Doe child in this case. You read that correctly, this case involves a child “harmlessly” playing Roblox and ends with an encounter in the real world—easily in the top 10 of a parent’s worst nightmare.
According to the complaint, Roblox, which is marketed as a safe, family-friendly platform, has instead become a hunting ground for online predators looking to groom children, exploit them for sexually explicit photos and videos, and, in some cases, even meet them in real life to do horrible things to them.
Despite years of public assurances about its safety and advanced moderation, Roblox allegedly designed and operated its platform in ways that allowed adults to easily pose as children, communicate directly with minors, and lure them into dangerous situations, according to this lawsuit.
The complaint alleges that Roblox deliberately failed to invest in effective safeguards, prioritizing user growth and profits over child safety and the safety of the whole community.
In John Doe’s case, predators he met on Roblox gained his trust while posing as peers, sent him explicit content, and ultimately coerced him into sharing sexual images and videos—acts that caused lasting emotional trauma. The lawsuit asserts that Roblox had the ability and responsibility to prevent such exploitation but repeatedly chose not to.
Why Roblox and Discord Are Facing Accusations of Facilitating Harm to Children
This Georgia filing is part of a growing wave of litigation targeting online platforms that fail to protect their youngest users from exploitation. Plaintiffs across the country allege that Roblox and, in some cases, Discord have been knowingly complicit in creating environments where predators can thrive.
Both platforms are accused of:
- Allowing adults to easily misrepresent their ages and contact children directly.
- Failing to verify user identities or implement effective parental controls.
- Ignoring years of documented incidents involving grooming, extortion, and real-world abuse.
- Profiting from the exploitation by taking transaction fees on in-game currency exchanges tied to predator activity.
The core claim is that these companies not only failed to protect children but also created and maintained systems that made abuse more likely.
Lawsuits Like This One Are Pouring in Against Roblox
Here are two other lawsuits with strong parallels to Jane Doe v. Roblox — they address the same fundamental issue of Roblox allegedly enabling predator behavior through insufficient safeguards:
Doe v. Roblox Corporation and Discord, Inc. (San Mateo County, California)
Filed in San Mateo County Superior Court, this case involves an 11-year-old girl from Florida who was groomed and exploited through both Roblox and Discord. The complaint alleges that Roblox allowed predators to contact the child directly, while Discord became the platform where the abuse escalated. Plaintiffs claim both companies failed to implement any real attempt at age verification, ignored repeated warnings about predator activity, and profited from user engagement that placed minors in harm’s way.
Child and Family v. Roblox Corporation (Pennsylvania)
Several parents from Pennsylvania brought suit on behalf of their children, alleging that Roblox’s in-game currency system (Robux) became a tool for predators to entice minors into exchanging sexual images for Robux. The complaint claims Roblox’s ranking algorithms and social features amplified predator visibility, and that parental controls were ineffective, giving predators direct access to young users.
