February 20, 2026 – Los Angeles County Files Lawsuit Over Roblox’s Design and Safety Failures

Los Angeles County has filed its own lawsuit, focusing on how Roblox is built, not just how it is used. The complaint argues that the platform’s design allows adults to pose as children and target minors directly. It also points to missing safeguards like age verification and meaningful parental controls, describing them as obvious fixes that were never implemented. The county claims it has had to divert public resources to deal with the consequences, including increased exploitation and trauma cases. This is not framed as isolated misconduct. It is framed as a system that allowed it to happen.

February 11, 2026 – Roblox Lawsuits Expand Beyond Grooming Into Broader Liability Claims

The litigation is evolving. New cases are no longer focused only on grooming. They now include claims about defective design, addictive features targeting minors, and failures to verify users. There are also allegations that Roblox was aware of these risks but chose not to act in order to avoid scaring off users. February 10, 2026 – Additional Roblox Cases Transferred Into MDL No. 3166

Federal courts continued transferring newly filed Roblox lawsuits into MDL No. 3166 in the Northern District of California. Transfer orders are expected to continue as additional plaintiffs file lawsuits alleging child sexual exploitation, grooming, and abuse connected to the platform. Centralization allows the parties to conduct coordinated discovery and avoid inconsistent rulings across federal courts.

February 3, 2026 – Discovery Battles Begin Over What Roblox Knew Internally

The fight over internal documents is underway. The plaintiffs are seeking records related to prior complaints, moderation practices, safety budgets, and internal risk assessments. Roblox is expected to push back, especially when it comes to internal communications and executive-level awareness. These early discovery battles matter. Once internal documents come out, they often change the entire direction of a case.

January 30, 2026 – Dolman Law Group Surpasses 50 Filed Roblox Abuse Cases

Dolman Law Group has now filed more than 50 lawsuits involving Roblox-related abuse. Across these cases, the pattern is consistent. December 16, 2025 – Iowa Attorney General Files Lawsuit Over Child Exploitation Risks

Iowa has filed suit, alleging Roblox failed to protect children from predators. The complaint focuses on how the platform enables harmful interactions, including grooming and the sharing of explicit content. It adds to the growing number of states taking action over the same core issue.

December 12, 2025 – Federal Panel Creates Roblox Child Sexual Exploitation MDL

The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation formally centralized federal Roblox sexual exploitation lawsuits into MDL No. 3166 and assigned the proceedings to Judge Richard Seeborg in the Northern District of California. The panel concluded that the lawsuits share common factual questions concerning Roblox’s alleged failure to protect children from online predators. The creation of the MDL marked a major turning point in the litigation and established a unified venue for coordinated pretrial proceedings.

December 11, 2025 – Florida Investigation Finds Major Gaps in Roblox Safety Measures

Florida’s lawsuit is based on its own investigation. Officials created fake accounts posing as children and were able to access explicit content and interact across the platform without meaningful restrictions. The complaint highlights the lack of age verification and references prior cases involving Florida victims. The takeaway is clear: basic safeguards were either missing or ineffective.

At 11 years old, the boy was groomed by an adult predator who posed as another child on Roblox.
The predator sent explicit images and threatened to harm the child’s family in order to coerce the boy into taking and sending similar photos of himself.
The lawsuit alleges Roblox created a false sense of safety for parents by promoting its platform as safe while making it easy for predators to find and exploit children.
Our legal team also discovered Roblox “experiences” with disturbing references to convicted child abusers and sexualized content, which remained accessible to young users.

Texas Attorney General Sues Roblox Over Child Safety Failures

Also in November, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a separate lawsuit against Roblox, accusing the company of:

Roblox Announces Facial Age Estimation and Chat Controls

Facing growing legal and public pressure, Roblox announced new safety updates on November 18, 2025, which it says will begin rolling out in December, including:

Mandatory facial age verification will be required for users who want to access certain chat features, alongside existing safety measures that include parental controls, content labels, and moderation efforts.
Chat restrictions will limit contact between adults and minors, unless they are verified as family members, and parents can now monitor their child’s activity and spending on Roblox.(ugc)
Roblox says it has launched 145 safety initiatives this year and continues to invest in moderation tools and partnerships with child safety groups.

While these steps are a positive sign, they do not erase the suffering already experienced by many children, and they do not remove Roblox’s legal responsibility for past harms.

Connecticut Predator Arrested for Exploiting Teen on Roblox

In another chilling reminder of how predators use Roblox to reach children, law enforcement in Connecticut arrested a man in November who allegedly used the platform to groom and exploit a 13-year-old girl. The suspect is facing charges related to enticement and sexual abuse of a minor.

This criminal case mirrors many of the allegations found in the civil lawsuits being filed across the country, namely, adults posing as children, gaining a minor’s trust, moving the conversation off-platform (often to Discord), and then manipulating the child into sharing explicit content.

Our firm recently filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of a DeKalb County mother whose teenage son was exploited by an adult he met on Roblox. Attorney General Issues Criminal Subpoena Against Roblox

In a related legal move, Florida’s Attorney General is demanding documents from Roblox related to young users, specifically how they are protected, who is responsible for marketing Roblox to children, and what steps they are taking to stop the harm. Although criminal actions do not directly affect civil lawsuits, this information may support families’ claims that Roblox should be held accountable for the harm suffered by children around the country.

Federal Court to Consider Case Consolidation

Because these lawsuits are now being filed in multiple states, the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML) will meet in December 2025 to consider combining them into a single coordinated litigation. We have filed another lawsuit against Roblox and Discord on behalf of a mother and her 11-year-old daughter after the young girl was targeted by a predator on their platforms. The lawsuit alleges that the companies are negligent for not having proper safety measures in place, which allowed a predator to groom the child. The suit claims the predator used Robux, Roblox’s virtual currency, to coerce the minor into sending explicit images. According to the lawsuit, both companies prioritize financial gain over the safety of children, resulting in severe trauma for the victim.

September 20, 2025 – Plaintiffs Have Filed a Motion With JPML to Consolidate Roblox Cases

Plaintiff lawyers led by Alexandra Walsh and Sarah London have filed a memorandum in support of a motion for transfer of actions for coordinated or consolidated pretrial proceedings with the Judicial Panel for Multidistrict Litigation.. Further, the plaintiffs have requested that all lawsuits against Roblox for the exploitation, grooming, and/or abuse of children be consolidated in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Judge William Orrick and Chief Judge Richard Seeborg were expressly listed within this motion as being most well-suited to oversee this MDL.

The very purpose of consolidating existing and forthcoming lawsuits is to avoid inconsistent pretrial rulings and duplicative discovery. It is important to note that there are currently thirty-one (31) cases pending against Roblox in twelve (12) judicial districts before twenty-five (25) different judges.

September 16, 2025 – Roblox and Discord Named in Another Lawsuit Over Child Exploitation, Dolman Law Group

We’ve just filed another lawsuit against Roblox and Discord, this time on behalf of a mother and her daughter from Dale County, Alabama. This case is another tragic example of how these platforms have become a hunting ground for predators.

Our client, a 12-year-old girl, was repeatedly targeted and groomed by multiple predators who used the promise of the very currency that fuels Roblox’s massive profits, Robux, to exploit her. The manipulation and abuse she endured led to severe depression and suicidal thoughts, and eventually resulted in her hospitalization.

This case, like the others, highlights the unacceptable truth: Roblox and Discord have not done enough to protect children. Their platforms are designed in a way that allows predators to operate freely and they have done little about it.

September 10, 2025 – Dolman Law Group Files Lawsuit on Behalf of Arkansas Boy Sexually Exploited on Roblox

In a new lawsuit filed in the Circuit Court of Perry County, Arkansas, Dolman Law Group is representing a mother and her son who were sexually exploited on Roblox and Discord. Our complaint, like so many others, alleges that both corporations are accountable for creating a breeding ground for predators and are therefore responsible for enabling a predator to groom the young boy who was 12 years old at the time the crimes were committed.

The predator masqueraded as another boy of the same age and eventually manipulated him into sending multiple nude images of himself. The predator, of course, encouraged him to keep their interactions a secret.

According to our founding attorney Matthew Dolman, Roblox has prioritized profit over child safety for too long, allowing depraved individuals to harm children on the platform. The lawsuit seeks unspecified monetary damages for the severe psychological and emotional injuries the boy suffered, highlighting the platform’s negligent design and pervasive misrepresentations about safety.

While Roblox claims its new safety features empower parents with greater control than ever, we remain skeptical. Roblox has repeatedly lied to the general public and their shareholders, time and again, touting the safety features of their gaming platform while dealing with numerous law enforcement investigations of sexual predators grooming and abusing children facilitated by Roblox.

September 4, 2025 – Dolman Law Group Files Lawsuit Against Roblox and Discord for Child Exploitation

We’ve just filed a new lawsuit against Roblox and Discord (which has been named in a few other lawsuits we have filed) in California on behalf of a mother and her young daughter from Lake County, Indiana.

Our complaint, like many others we have filed, alleges these tech companies are responsible for knowingly creating and maintaining a dangerous environment that enabled the sexual exploitation and manipulation of this now 14-year-old girl.

Here’s what happened: an adult predator posing as a teenager groomed the young Jane Doe on Roblox and Discord (moving between platforms to avoid detection). He eventually coerced her into sending explicit images of herself and encouraged her to commit self-harm.

Our lawsuit claims that Roblox—which they’ve always marketed as a safe platform for children while doing very little to protect them—has failed to implement even the most basic safeguards while prioritizing financial gain and keeping investors happy over keeping children safe. These actions have left kids completely vulnerable to likely hundreds of thousands of predators who they know are on their platform.

September 3, 2025 – Roblox Sued After Predator Uses In-Game Currency to Exploit 8-Year-Old Girl from Virginia

Dolman Law Group has filed a federal lawsuit against the Roblox Corporation in the Northern District of California that alleges Roblox’s actions and inactions played a role in allowing a predator to sexually exploit an 8-year-old girl from Stafford County, Virginia.

The complaint states the predator used the app to groom the child over time and coerce her into sending explicit images in exchange for Roblox’s virtual currency, Robux.

The lawsuit claims Roblox didn’t do enough to keep kids safe and that the company’s design makes it easy for predators to operate. According to the lawsuit, Roblox presented itself as a safe place for kids while allowing private, unsupervised interactions.

The complaint also points out some seriously concerning content in user-created games. Jane Doe and her mom are seeking damages for the emotional distress. Dolman Law Group is handling similar cases across the country.

September 1, 2025 – Dolman Law Group Continues to Lead the Fight Against the Hellscape that is Roblox

As of September 1, 2025, Dolman Law Group has filed ten lawsuits against Roblox Corporation for what we believe is the facilitation of grooming, sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation against children.

We believe they are liable for these incidents because they failed to implement adequate safety measures, proper age verification, proper moderation, and dozens of other issues they have been well aware of, such as the ability for a blocked user to create a new account immediately.

We are arguing that these failures, among others, allow predators to thrive on Roblox.

Additionally, we believe they intentionally marketed Roblox as safe for children (40% are 13 and under) while knowing that their platform contains sex clubs, Nazi idolization groups, and even a Satanic pedophile sex cult.

Oh yeah, you read that right: a satanic cult that engaged in the exchange and creation of child sexual abuse material, as well as extreme extortion and exploitation, on both Roblox and Discord.

Because of the tendency for predators to move their victims from Roblox to encrypted or more private platforms, we have also included other defendants, such as Discord and Meta, in our litigation, who we believe also failed in their duty to keep their underage users safe.

The complaint we filed with the federal court basically says that the Roblox Corporation knowingly created and continued to maintain a platform that’s a breeding ground for predators. We also claim that since they have long had previous knowledge of this problem, they’ve been facilitating the grooming and sexual exploitation of minors.

Roblox has been straight-up lying to parents, telling them their app is safe for kids while doing very little to implement even the most basic protections like age verification or decent parental controls.

Here’s what happened: the minor plaintiff was groomed on Roblox by a predator who was pretending to be another kid. This predator moved their conversations off the app (so they could speak more privately). He then used Robux, the in-game currency, to coerce the child into sending explicit images of herself.

We argue that the damages these incidents are creating have been totally foreseeable and preventable, but Roblox just kept making decisions that prioritized growth and keeping investors happy over actually protecting the kids and users on their platform.

Our lawsuit is seeking damages for severe and lasting harm, including emotional distress, trauma, and loss of trust.

August 13, 2025 – Dolman Law Group Files Another Lawsuit Against Roblox, This Time In Texas

Dolman Law Group has filed another federal lawsuit, this time in the Southern District of Texas, on behalf of an 8-year-old boy and his mother against Roblox Corporation. The complaint alleges Roblox enabled and facilitated the boy’s grooming and sexual exploitation by an adult predator who posed as a child to solicit sexual images from him.

According to the lawsuit, Roblox’s platform design, including its open chat system, nearly nonexistent age checks, no meaningful parental consent, and ease with which a banned player can create a new account, allowed the predator to connect with the child, gain his trust, and coerce him into sharing first his cell number, then eventually explicit images.

The filing accuses Roblox of prioritizing user growth and profits over safety since it is clear that they have known about and have been ignoring warnings about predatory behavior on the app for years.

Dolman Law Group is seeking damages to compensate the boy’s family for the vast amounts of mental health care he will need, as well as for systemic changes to protect other children from going through the same harm.

Unfortunately, thousands, possibly tens of thousands, of children are likely experiencing some type of grooming or abuse on Roblox right now as the wheels of justice turn slowly. But don’t forget, though they may turn slow, they grind exceedingly fine.

August 11, 2025 – Dolman Law Group Sues Roblox in Georgia Superior Court Over Child Exploitation

We have officially filed our second major lawsuit against Roblox because we believe Roblox’s design choices, safety failures, and public misrepresentations have directly enabled predators to groom, exploit, and harm our client, and potentially tens or even hundreds of thousands of minors across the country.

Dolman Law Group, along with co-counsel Battle Law, filed this lawsuit in the Superior Court of DeKalb County against Roblox Corporation in Georgia. For obvious reasons, our clients wish to remain anonymous, so we have filed and are representing them as Jane Doe and her minor son, John Doe.

Just like many of the lawsuits that have been filed in the Roblox Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Lawsuits, the allegations are pretty disturbing. Our lawsuit claims Roblox essentially enabled the grooming and real-world sexual exploitation of our client after predators he met on the platform posed as fellow children, gained his trust, and eventually coerced him into sending explicit images and videos.

It’s exactly the kind of thing that makes you wonder what the hell these companies are actually doing to protect kids and why these horrendous things happening on Roblox aren’t flooding our newscycles.

Roblox has always branded itself as safe and family-friendly, which is turning out to be quite the joke. However, we know that kids are being emotionally and even physically harmed because of their time on Roblox.

July 23, 2025 – Dolman Law Group Featured in Forbes After Suing Roblox for Rape of 11yo Girl, Lawsuit Filed in Northern California

Today, Forbes Magazine published an article about the lawsuit we filed on July 17, 2025, against Roblox and Discord on behalf of a young Jane Doe and her family from Miami-Dade County, Florida. The Forbes story, “Family Sues Roblox, Discord After Child Raped By Predatory User” by Alison Escalante, recounts the horrendous story, details what we allege Roblox and Discord did or didn’t do to protect their underage users, and notes similar past incidents involving children groomed on Roblox and Discord that led to sexual assaults.

The article focuses mainly on concerns about Roblox’s weak or nonexistent age restrictions, commenting that users under 13 can play with older users, parental controls practically disappear once a user turns 13, and wonky age verification processes.

Finally, the Forbes story reports on their attempt to get a statement from the spokespersons for Roblox and Discord, but they declined to comment. Instead, they reiterated their commitment to user safety, mentioning investments in technology, moderation, and parental resources.

July 18, 2025 – Dolman Law Group Files Lawsuit Against Roblox and Discord for Facilitating Child Exploitation

On July 18, 2025, we filed a civil lawsuit in the Superior Court of California for San Mateo County against Roblox Corporation and Discord Inc. on behalf of an 11-year-old Florida girl who was groomed and exploited through both platforms. This case seeks to hold these companies accountable for failing to implement basic child safety protections and for creating online environments that allowed predators to target and harm vulnerable children.

Our complaint alleges that Roblox and Discord negligently designed their platforms in ways that made it easy for bad actors to reach and manipulate young users, while giving parents a false sense of security about the safety of these services. Despite promoting themselves as safe spaces for kids and teens, both companies failed to properly monitor their platforms, ignored widespread reports of grooming and explicit content, and allowed unsupervised communication between minors and adults.

According to our lawsuit, the minor was exposed to harmful content and contacted by adult users through chat and communication features that remained accessible—even when safety settings were enabled. In some instances, the child was able to enter sexually themed areas within Roblox that should never have been available on a platform marketed to children. Discord further allowed this exploitation to continue off-platform with even less oversight.

We believe this harm was preventable. These companies knew—or should have known—that their platforms were being used by predators, yet they failed to take reasonable steps to protect children. As a result, a young girl suffered. We are seeking monetary damages for the victim and demanding systemic changes in how both Roblox and Discord manage safety for minors.

July 13 – “Roblox Failed to Protect Minors” Alleged in New California Roblox Grooming Lawsuit

A lawsuit filed this afternoon in U.S. Federal District Court for the Northern District of California states some of the strongest allegations of egregious conduct exhibited by Roblox to date. The plaintiff is a 14-year-old girl who was sexually groomed by an adult posing as a fellow child who took advantage of this child’s vulnerability by pretending and promising to be a friend. In turn, an emotional connection was developed between the groomer and the victim. This sexual predator traveled across state lines to Alabama to meet with this child at a fast food restaurant near her home.

Upon meeting the young girl, the defendant, a sexual predator, took this child to a nearby location and attempted to rape her. Law enforcement arrived during this attack and found the young girl without a shirt, with bruises on her arms and legs. The predator had his genitals exposed and was attempting to remove the girl’s pants. Police arrested the sex predator, and he is presently incarcerated.

July 7, 2025 – Now That Discord Is A Defendant, What’s Their Role In This?

In a new development, the chat platform Discord has officially been named as a defendant in lawsuits related to child abuse occurring on and around Roblox. The lawsuits allege that Discord played a critical role in enabling predators to groom and exploit children by allowing them to move conversations from Roblox’s game environment to private, unmoderated Discord servers.

According to legal filings and survivor accounts, a disturbing pattern has emerged: predators often use Roblox to identify and initiate contact with vulnerable children, then lure them onto Discord where there is significantly less oversight. These isolated chat rooms provide a more concealed space for abuse, including the sharing of explicit content, coercion, and manipulation.

The inclusion of Discord as a defendant highlights the broader ecosystem of online platforms that may contribute to or enable abuse. Plaintiffs argue that Discord failed to implement or enforce sufficient safety measures to protect minors—especially given its known usage by child predators and prior warnings from advocacy groups.

June 23, 2025 – The Disturbing Reality on Roblox Gaming Platform Creates Mounting Concerns Over Child Safety

After Bloomberg laid out all these crazy and disturbing issues earlier this year, the lawsuits have been piling up against Roblox. We’re talking serious legal action here, all pointing to one horrifying truth: Roblox is allegedly facilitating child sexual exploitation. This is not something you see every day from a video game, especially not with this much merit.

These lawsuits claim Roblox knowingly built a metaphorical playground for predators, a place where it’s alarmingly easy to meet kids and gain their trust, always behind a harmless-looking character avatar, often through shady monetization tactics, and allowed by a total failure on age verification. It’s a digital Wild West, and our kids are the targets.

And if you need an example, we need not even leave the playground concept. Roblox is essentially a digital construction kit that allows anyone to build anything. But Roblox has to introduce the pieces to this “construction kit,” so to speak. And they have literally provided the tools and assets for anyone to build virtual replicas of playgrounds from their vast library of playground-themed items in their Creator Store. And there are dedicated zones within the game, like the widely popular Bloxburg.

Roblox equips users to design spaces where people can gather and interact. Any person, adult or child, can do so without any age verification, and in a situation where most parents assume the game is harmless because it appears their kid is just controlling a little character who can do anything and everything on a digital playground, like riding a bike or playing in a tree house. What the parents might not know is that the other little characters on the playground could be predators who can chat, direct message, and even voice chat with their child.

The message is getting louder and clearer: we need tighter regulations. And frankly, Roblox needs a complete overhaul of its safety features to actually meet child protection laws. UPDATE FACT CHECK: Roblox Child Exploitation Lawsuits have NOT been denied consolidation into an MDL

That decision applies only to the video game addiction lawsuits, which are entirely different cases.

May 1, 2025 – Minors are Kidnapped and Exploited as Cases Continue to Grow.

A recent civil complaint filed in San Francisco County Superior Court (Case No. CGC-25-624596) accuses Roblox Corporation and Discord Inc. of enabling the exploitation of a 13-year-old girl. Filed under the alias Jane Doe on April 21, 2025, the lawsuit alleges that the child was initially groomed through in-game communication on Roblox before being coerced into sharing explicit material via Discord.

According to the complaint, both companies failed to implement adequate safeguards and allegedly misrepresented the safety of their platforms to parents. Attorneys for the family claim the abuse occurred despite clear indications on the user account that the child was underage. Over time, in-person meetings resulted from private messages exchanged between a sexual predator and a child.

The legal action highlights specific features such as Roblox’s “whisper” messaging system and Discord’s private channels as avenues through which the predator maintained contact. The case seeks financial damages for negligence and failure to warn, marking one of the first coordinated legal efforts targeting both platforms over child protection failures. A number of legal complaints cite Roblox’s knowledge of a pedophile problem dating back to at least 2021.

April 18, 2025 – Federal Class Action Filed Over Alleged Data Collection Practices on Roblox

On April 18, 2025, a federal class action (Case No. 2:25-cv-03476) was initiated in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California by Michael and Salena Garcia on behalf of their child, referred to as R.G. The lawsuit claims that Roblox Corp. covertly collects and shares users’ digital activity, including that of children, without proper disclosure or consent.

The filing alleges that the company uses tracking technologies, such as fingerprinting scripts, to harvest detailed data, including IP addresses, device signatures, keystroke activity, and even mouse movements. It transmits this information to external entities for advertising and analytics purposes.

Plaintiffs assert that this practice constitutes unauthorized surveillance and violates federal statutes, including the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The lawsuit seeks both injunctive relief and damages, asserting that the platform’s public image as a kid-friendly environment is contradicted by its backend data practices.

April 17, 2025 – New Jersey Sues Discord, Cites Risks to Children and Mentions Roblox

On April 17, 2025, New Jersey’s Attorney General filed a consumer protection complaint against Discord Inc. in Essex County Superior Court, alleging that the company’s platform places minors at serious risk. The lawsuit argues that Discord misleads users and fails to implement sufficient controls to prevent predatory behavior, allowing adult users unfettered access to children.

The state’s filing describes Discord as a “hunting ground” for those seeking to exploit minors, with its default settings allowing unsolicited messages and friend requests. The complaint also references Roblox as an example of where minors often gather online, making them more vulnerable to cross-platform contact with predators.

April 16, 2025 – Florida AG Launches Roblox Investigation Over Child Safety Concerns

In a separate move, Florida’s Attorney General initiated a legal investigation into Roblox Corp. on April 16, 2025, issuing a subpoena that demands internal documentation regarding the company’s marketing, moderation policies, data collection, and age-verification systems.

The subpoena comes in response to rising concerns that the platform exposes young users to inappropriate content and gives predators access to minors through in-game communication tools. Florida’s inquiry is focused on determining whether Roblox’s practices may violate state-level consumer protection laws.

April 14, 2025 – Child Abduction in California Tied to Roblox Interaction

In a criminal case that drew national attention, a 10-year-old girl from Taft, California, was abducted after initiating contact with a man through Roblox and communicating with him on Discord. Authorities say the child was reported missing on April 13, 2025, and later found in the suspect’s car in Elk Grove, over 250 miles away.

The suspect, 27-year-old Matthew Naval, is currently in custody and faces multiple felony charges, including kidnapping and engaging in sexual activity with a minor. Investigators believe Naval had been grooming the girl for weeks using online gaming and messaging features.

He is being held on $1.35 million bail and has entered a plea of not guilty. The incident has intensified public debate about the vulnerability of children on platforms like Roblox and the extent to which those platforms bear responsibility for abuse that begins within their ecosystems.

March 14, 2025 – Multiple Lawsuits and Attempted MDL Involving Roblox
